GoHighLevel Dashboard Walkthrough: What Loads First

GoHighLevel Dashboard Walkthrough: What Loads First

Create a sub-account and the first screen you see is Launchpad: a checklist of setup actions grouped by what they accomplish, from connecting a calendar to turning on payments.

Everything else worth knowing in a GoHighLevel dashboard walkthrough, the widgets, the custom reports, the templates agencies clone across clients, sits one click past that first screen.

Launchpad Opens Before Any Widget Does

The checklist splits into five outcomes: foundational setup, marketing and lead generation, sales and conversations, website and monetization, and e-commerce.

  • Foundational setup: contacts, branding, calendars
  • Marketing and lead generation: funnels, campaigns
  • Sales and conversations: communication channels, pipelines
  • Website and monetization: domains, payments
  • E-commerce: products, checkout, taxes

Short videos sit next to each task, some with picture-in-picture playback so the clip keeps running while you work behind it. A Product Tour Guide highlights the exact field or button to click next, instead of leaving you to translate a paragraph into clicks.

Permissions decide which tasks show up at all, so a brand-new admin and the agency owner see different checklists on the same account. That matters when setting up a sub-account you'll hand off to a junior team member.

Reporting Widgets: The Core of a GoHighLevel Dashboard Walkthrough

Finish the checklist and the screen underneath it looks nothing like a list of tasks.

A dashboard selection menu switches between layouts, a date picker remembers your last range, and a three-dot menu holds the options you'll reach for most: cloning a layout, setting a default, adjusting who can see it.

Widgets render as rectangular cards. Click into one and you can drop down to the records behind the number, a full table you can export rather than a figure you have to trust.

Six chart formats cover most of what gets built.

  • Numeric scorecards
  • Donut charts
  • Line charts
  • Bar charts
  • Horizontal bar charts
  • Tables

That range covers contacts, appointments, opportunities, calls and revenue without exporting to a spreadsheet first.

Build the same data around funnel stage instead of raw totals and you're closer to the problem we cover in tracking ROI with GoHighLevel reporting dashboards than a generic KPI screen.

Building a Custom Dashboard From Scratch

Every plan includes unlimited custom dashboards, so there's no reason to force unrelated metrics onto one screen. Open the dashboard selection menu, choose Add Dashboard, name it, and decide whether it's private before you confirm the blank layout and start adding widgets.

From there, add widgets one of three ways: accept a suggested starting set, add them manually, or drop into edit mode and build the layout piece by piece. Each widget gets configured in its own panel before you save it.

Edit mode is where the generic layout ends. Drag a widget by its six-dot handle, resize it from the corner, or swap the theme and background until the result looks built for this client, not handed to them by default.

Agencies running several brands under white-label support tend to build one layout like this and reuse it instead of starting from scratch each time.

Templates Let Agencies Clone a Dashboard Across Clients

Reusing a layout by hand still means rebuilding every widget in the next sub-account. Templates skip that step.

Switch to Agency View, open the Template Library, pick the sub-account and dashboard you already built, and publish it with a category, tags and a description attached.

A new sub-account then pulls that same layout by opening Add Dashboard and choosing From Template Library instead of starting blank. It's the same shortcut we point agencies toward in faster client onboarding with snapshots, just applied to reporting instead of pipelines and automations.

Build the dashboard once, in whichever sub-account matters most, and push it everywhere else instead of rebuilding it client by client.
