Is SimpleTalk a White-Label Version of Retell AI?
Search results asking whether SimpleTalk's voice agent is a white-label version of Retell AI turn up no contract, no press release, and no technical document linking the two companies.
SimpleTalk never discloses which voice AI engine runs under its own product, and Retell AI doesn't list SimpleTalk anywhere as a partner or reseller. That absence of evidence isn't proof either way, but it means nobody outside either company's engineering team actually knows.
What SimpleTalk's Done-For-You Model Actually Includes
SimpleTalk sells a finished system, not a toolkit. A dedicated team handles consultation, buildout, integration and ongoing optimization for each client, according to an August 2025 release describing the company's AI sales system, which credited the setup with more than 100,000 sales appointments booked since its early rollout.
SimpleTalk's own technical documentation states that the underlying phone system must be either Twilio or Vonage. It details voice settings like speed and temperature, but never names the speech model actually generating the agent's responses, which is exactly the gap feeding the Retell question.
Why Retell AI Works Differently
Retell AI isn't a done-for-you service. It's a developer-first platform: you build the call flow yourself in a drag-and-drop studio or through its API, and you keep control over changes instead of waiting on an account manager.
Retell's own site charges by the minute, from $0.07 to $0.31 depending on the model and features chosen, with no annual contract required. Nothing on that site mentions a native white-label or reseller product, only a Solution Partner Program that reads as a partnership channel rather than a rebrand-and-resell tool.
SimpleTalk vs Retell AI at a Glance
One Trustpilot reviewer described paying $10,000 upfront for a SimpleTalk build, only to learn the system needed another $200 to $500 a month to keep functioning. That's closer to a subscription than a one-time purchase.
| Factor | SimpleTalk | Retell AI |
|---|---|---|
| Who builds the agent | SimpleTalk's own implementation team | You, in Retell's studio or via its API |
| Pricing model | Upfront build cost plus an ongoing service fee, reported at $200 to $500 a month | $0.07 to $0.31 per minute, pay as you go |
| Underlying voice engine named | Not disclosed in SimpleTalk's own documentation | Not applicable. Retell is the engine itself |
| Native white-label or reseller product | None advertised | None advertised; a Solution Partner Program exists instead |
What a White-Label Version of Retell AI Would Look Like
In this market, white-labeling usually means a second company brands someone else's engine as its own, without the reseller ever touching the underlying model. If SimpleTalk were doing that with Retell, you'd expect a case study or a partner page somewhere.
None of that turned up. That's a different arrangement from the white-label support we provide agencies reselling GoHighLevel, where the branding sits on a system we built and the agency never touches our backend either.
What's documented is simpler: SimpleTalk needs its own Twilio or Vonage connection and stays silent on its voice engine, while Retell runs its own stack and lets customers build on it directly.
Choosing Between a Packaged Agent and a Custom One
The practical question isn't whether SimpleTalk secretly runs on Retell. It's whether a packaged, recurring-fee product fits your business better than an agent built to run inside systems you already own.
We've connected SimpleTalk to GoHighLevel for clients ourselves, including a SimpleTalk outreach build for a property developer.
For businesses that want the scripts and integration logic owned outright, that's closer to what our AI agent builder work does. It's the same reasoning behind the voice AI dispatch system we built for an HVAC company.
Either path can work. The one that doesn't is picking a platform because you assumed it was quietly reselling a bigger name's technology. Ask the vendor what's running underneath, and judge the answer, or the silence, on its own terms.
