How to Point Your Own Domain at a White-Label GHL Account

Setting up a GoHighLevel white label domain swaps the platform's own login screen for your agency's branded subdomain. A client signing in sees app.youragency.com instead of app.gohighlevel.com.

It takes one DNS record and one settings page. Plenty of agencies still get it wrong on the first attempt, because the SSL certificate only issues once the DNS points at exactly the right target.

Get that one record wrong and the branded URL either never loads or loads without the padlock. That looks worse to a client than the stock GoHighLevel login ever did.

How the GoHighLevel white label domain CNAME works

The whitelabel domain is a CNAME, not an A record, and it has to point at a specific host. HighLevel's own setup guide for the desktop app whitelabel domain lays out four steps.

  1. At your DNS provider, create a CNAME record on the subdomain you want to use, commonly "app".
  2. Set the target value to whitelabel.ludicrous.cloud.
  3. In Agency View, go to Settings, then Company, then Whitelabel, and enter the full subdomain under Whitelabel Domain.
  4. Upload your agency logo and add your Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions URLs on the same screen.

SSL issues automatically once DNS resolves correctly, generally within half an hour. If you manage DNS through Cloudflare, the record has to sit in DNS-only mode.

Leave the proxy toggled on and the orange cloud blocks the certificate from ever being issued. The branded domain sits there without a padlock no matter how long you wait.

The other domains the same setup touches

The login screen isn't the only thing a white label setup covers. HighLevel's support documentation on whitelabel, API, email sending, sites and client portal domains treats each as a separate CNAME with its own settings page.

Domain typeWhere you set it upWhat it changes
Whitelabel domainAgency Settings > Company > WhitelabelThe branded login and app URL clients bookmark
API / branded domainAgency Settings or sub-account Business ProfileLinks in forms, surveys and calendars
Email sending domainSettings > Email Services > Dedicated DomainAuthentication for outgoing LC Email
Sites domainSub-Account > Settings > DomainsPublic URLs for websites, funnels and stores
Client portal domainSub-Account > Sites > Client PortalBranded URL for communities and courses

Our GHL setup and configuration work usually covers all five in one pass. A client who hits an unbranded link in an email right after logging into a branded dashboard notices the inconsistency immediately.

One mistake shows up often enough to call out: adding a root domain instead of a subdomain to any of these fields can break a mailbox or website already running on that domain. Every one of these records belongs on a subdomain you aren't using for anything else.

Which plan unlocks it, and what it doesn't include

HighLevel's own pricing page lists four tiers: Starter at $97 a month, Unlimited at $297, Agency Pro at $497, and Enterprise at custom pricing. Custom domain connections for funnels and websites are available across the tiers, and so is desktop app branding.

A white label mobile app is a different line item: a $497-a-month add-on on the lower tiers. It's bundled in at no extra cost only on Enterprise.

If a branded mobile app is on your roadmap, that cost belongs in the plan decision, not as a surprise after the domain is live.

Once everything connects cleanly, the test is simple: open the branded URL in a private window and check that nothing shows GoHighLevel's own name anywhere in the flow.

For what each plan includes beyond the domain, see our guide to what each GoHighLevel white label plan includes.
