How to Set Up a Professional GoHighLevel Profile

A GoHighLevel sub-account with a blank logo, a placeholder email, and no branded domain reads like a test account, not a live business. Setting up a professional GoHighLevel profile is one of the first jobs on any new build, and it touches more of the platform than the section name suggests.

Start in Business Profile settings, not the workflow builder. Those fields feed custom values, compliance checks, and the branding a client actually sees.

What a Professional GoHighLevel Profile Starts With

The location ID at the top exists for troubleshooting with support and nothing else. Everything below it shows up somewhere a lead or client will notice.

Upload the business logo first. It appears across invoices, emails, and custom fields wherever the account gets referenced, according to HighLevel's field-by-field documentation, so a missing one shows up in more places than the dashboard header.

Friendly Business Name and Legal Business Name aren't the same field. The friendly name populates custom fields in messages and workflows. Its legal counterpart must match the paperwork instead: licenses, registration, the name a bank has on file.

Business email, phone, and website feed that same custom-field system. The branded domain works differently: it's a sub-domain through the client's own hosting provider, carrying trigger links, calendars, forms, and surveys instead of a generic HighLevel URL.

FieldWhere it shows up
Business LogoInvoices, emails, custom fields
Branded DomainTrigger links, calendars, forms, surveys
Legal Business NameCompliance documents, licenses, registration
API KeyThird-party integrations such as Zapier

Currency defaults to whatever country the physical address is in if nobody sets it, easy to miss on an account serving clients in more than one country.

Get the Legal and Compliance Details Right

The physical address should match what's listed on the account's EIN, since HighLevel's business profile guidance ties it to verification.

Time zone matters beyond the clock in the corner. It controls when automated campaigns actually send, so a sub-account left on the wrong zone can end up texting leads at 3am before anyone notices.

Business type, industry, and registration ID (EIN, CCN, or VAT depending on the region) sit in their own section, alongside a multi-select for regions of operation. None of it is optional once the account sends SMS or email at volume. Skip it and the account pays for that later in blocked messages or a suspended number.

Whitelabel the Pieces Clients Actually See

Everything so far lives at the sub-account level. Whitelabel branding lives one level up, inside the agency's Company settings, under its own Whitelabel tab.

The agency logo goes there too, sized to 350 by 180 pixels and capped at 2.5MB. It shows up on login screens, app headers, notification emails, and widgets across every sub-account underneath it. Set it once at the agency level and it carries through, instead of re-uploading a logo account by account.

Clients weighing a white-label partner notice this kind of consistency before anything else. A whitelabel domain gives the login portal its own branded URL, separate from the per-sub-account branded domain above, and the privacy policy link belongs here too. It's required before any public-facing widget can go live.

Two smaller settings finish the job. Incoming call timeout should sit between 10 and 20 seconds, and the missed call text back message fires the moment an unanswered call ends, catching a lead who'd otherwise just call the next name on the list.

None of this is a one-afternoon job across dozens of accounts, which is why agencies running white-label support at volume build a checklist for these fields instead of filling them in from memory each time. Get the GHL setup and configuration right at the start and the branding stays consistent as the account list grows, instead of getting patched one complaint at a time.
